At the heart of everything I am a jazz musician - I play the trumpet after all. But in my early twenties I was searching somewhat wildly for anything different and trying to put it into my music somehow. In the middle of it all was my love for Frank Zappa, who kind of had the template for mixing together different style of music and making it sounds natural. I got introduced to turn-of-the centry classical music at that time like Stravinsky, Debussy, Satie, Rimsky-Korsakov and only thought it fitting to mix in those influences in the music I was writing. So this is the result of that I guess.
Our first full album, "The Threshold of Good hope" came out in 2016. The title comes from Arnljótur Sigurðsson, who is a friend of mine and a bass player who I've played with in a number of projects, most notably his own band Ojba Rasta. Except he has no recollection of it. I swear to god I overheard him muttering this phrase at some point. I was intrigued by it, but when asked about it, he had no idea. Nevertheless it's now the very dramatic sounding yet meaningless title of our first album.
Second album, "Existential Despair for Beginner".
